How to use these NAPLEX infectious diseases practice exams
Exam 1 covers organisms, bug-drug coverage, resistance, the common syndromes, dosing, monitoring and stewardship; Exam 2 covers tuberculosis, invasive fungal infection, antivirals, hepatitis B and antimicrobial safety. In the NAPLEX Content Outline, choosing and adjusting therapy for a patient falls mainly under Domain 3, Person-Centered Assessment and Treatment Planning (about 40% of scored questions), and dosing regimens and monitoring also appear in Domain 2, the Medication Use Process.
- Learn first in Study mode. Take Exam 1 in Study mode and read every explanation, including the ones for questions you answered correctly.
- Then check yourself in Timed mode. Take Exam 2 in Timed mode in one sitting, without notes, as your infectious diseases checkpoint.
- Review misses by reason, not only by topic, with the 5S mock-review method: a knowledge gap, a calculation setup, a missed clue in the case, or a tempting distractor.
